About NoFAQ

General

With NoFAQ, we aim to make learning the command line easier for users of all skill levels. NoFAQ learns text-based repair based on user interaction.

• Given an erroneous command and the associated error message, NoFAQ will attempt to output a repaired version of the command
• Alternatively, NoFAQ can present you with examples of command/ error message pairs submitted by previous users. You can enter a repaired version of the command to help enrich NoFAQ's repair rules.

Team

NoFAQ was developed by Loris D'Antoni and Michael Vaughn. The project involves the following institutions: University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Technical Info

The details of our learning technique can be found on arxiv. Source code for the implementation can be foud on github. NoFAQ is inspired by the Vladimir Iakolev's wonderful tool, TheF[xxx] (landing page has NWS name).
